Welcome to Lago, a downtown, waterfront location perfect for hosting your family and loved ones. We love weddings and are genuinely excited to host them. Leaving no detail to chance, we work closely with you to create the wedding of your dreams.
Centrally located on Queen Elizabeth Driveway and just steps away from the Dominion Arboretum and Botanical Garden at the Central Experimental Farm, Lago boasts panoramic water views of Dow’s Lake in Canada’s capital!
Are you looking for a modern setting for a smaller wedding or an expansive space for a large party? Lago can provide either!
Our venues include:
• The Vista Room located on the second floor can accommodate 130 seated guests or 220 guests for cocktails with additional seasonal seating for 70 guests on its patio.
• Our restaurant on the water can be booked for private functions and can accommodate over 250 seated guests for dining and 440 for cocktails with additional seasonal seating for guests on our wraparound patio.
Each wedding reception includes:
• Round guest tables or banquet seating (where permissible)
• Dining chairs
• White table linens and choice of black or white napkins
• Modern dinnerware, stemware and flatware
• Set up and take away of your decor
• The ability to host a ceremony preceding your reception
Food & Beverage Possibilities
Service for your reception can be provided in the form of a three-course plated meal, buffet dinner, distinctive options for passed hors d’oeuvres, interactive food stations, unique chef inspired grazing tables and fun late night food stations with some serious personality! Our well curated catering package has been carefully designed by our Executive Chef to accommodate a wide range of needs with the best possible local ingredients.
Tastings are arranged in the year of the confirmed wedding and are offered complimentary for 2 guests. Please note that we offer tastings on plated and buffet meal options only and cannot accommodate tastings for hors d'oeuvres, platters or stations.
Both areas of the site are fully licensed. As such, all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages sold on premise are the responsibility of the venue and must be provided exclusively by the venue. We feature a range of bar options including host bar on consumption, subsidized bar and cash bar options.
We provide children’s menu options for children under 12 years of age.
The guaranteed number of guests attending the wedding (inclusive of special dietary concerns) and the table at which they will be enjoying their meal is required a minimum of 5 business days in advance of the wedding.

Planning The Day
Our dedicated event staff will complete all set up and take down of your decor for the big day! You will have a final meeting with a wedding coordinator approximately three to four weeks before your wedding. All aspects of the wedding will be reviewed in fine detail at this meeting - including timing, food selections and dietary preferences, alcohol options and all decor plans. We encourage you to drop off your decor items the week of your event at a pre-arranged appointment time so that you do not have to worry about anything except enjoying your wedding on the day itself!
Timeline for Your Wedding
Any day of deliveries may arrive at 12 pm or after on the day of the event. Vendors may access the venue at this time as well.
Ceremonies in the restaurant occur at 3 pm while those in the Vista Room occur at 4 pm. Service for cocktail hour, dinner and late night stations can be arranged at a time of your choosing.
Our venue is open until 2 am.
Music, Audio & Video
Both spaces include complete audio-visual capabilities, LED lit dance floor, surround sound speakers and a wireless microphone.
The Vista Room has a projector and screen which you are welcome to use and the restaurants have nine TV screens which can be accessed for a rolling slideshow (all guests must bring their own laptops and are responsible for playing any slideshows).
COVID-19 has forced us all to acknowledge and react responsibly to keep our community and vulnerable members safe. Our Covid-19 safety and cleaning measures are reviewed and updated frequently and we are searching for innovative technologies such as those offered by Sanicloud Canada (www.sanicloudcanada.com) to enhance the safety of the environment at our restaurant. We will ensure that you and your guests are provided with more than enough room to socially distance at your reception, but not to worry, the food will be as delicious as ever.
